Underlay

The underlay we recommend for our flooring is Cush'n'wood. Cush'n'Wood is a 4 mm dense flat APT Crumb Underlay designed for use under solid floors. Cush'n'Wood gives excellent durability and performance, it effectively cushions and supports the flooring with the result a more 'giving' and comfortable feel is achieved. Wooden floors are inherently noisy as they create an echo chamber between the flooring and the base.
This causes sound to resonate not only beneath the floor but also to adjacent levels. With an impact sound reduction rating (BS 5821) of 25 decibels Cush'n'Wood reduces the noise associated with wooden floors.Cush'n'Wood has a unique moisture lock to give a residual moisture barrier between the sub-floor and the wooden flooring.
